2026 Inductees
The La Crosse Logan High Wall of Fame committee would like to congratulate this year's inductees:
- Lisa (Foellmi) Adams - Class of 1981
- Terry Curtis - retired teacher and coach.
Lisa (Foellmi) Adams
For Lisa (Foellmi) Adams, science has always been part of her life. Lisa’s early memories of dissecting the deer, rabbits, squirrels, and fish that her dad harvested evolved into a lifelong passion and distinguished career. A 1981 graduate of Logan High School, Lisa went on to attend Viterbo University and UCLA, receiving her undergraduate degree in chemistry and a masters degree in biological chemistry. Upon graduation, she started her career at the Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo, MI, where her research in cell and molecular biology focused primarily on type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and novel antibiotics. After 16 years, Lisa’s career took her to Eli Lilly & Company in Indianapolis, IN, where she worked on teams developing clinical biomarkers to identify Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, as well as various types of cancer.
Other career highlights include being named a Distinguished Alumni of Viterbo University in 2024, receiving Eli Lilly’s John L. Emmerson Recognition Award in 2011, and the LRL President’s Recognition Award in 2007. Lisa also holds a U.S. Patent for her work at the Upjohn Company. Now retired, Lisa dedicates her time to the 501(c)3 nonprofit she founded in 2020, Bass Lakes Area Environmental Partnership, whose goals are non-chemical control of aquatic invasive species and providing education on the preservation of inland lakes and shoreline ecosystems. She also serves on the Board of Directors for her local Conservation District. In addition to her accomplished career, Lisa and her husband, Phil, are parents to two adult children.
Terry Curtis
Teacher, coach, co-worker, and friend - these are just some of the kind words used to describe Terry Curtis, a teaching veteran and coach of Logan High School. Terry’s career at Logan began in 1980 and spanned over four decades. During this time, he taught Technology Education and was named the Teacher of the Year for the School District of La Crosse in 1987. Beyond the classroom, Terry was heavily involved in athletics at Logan, serving as the head baseball coach (27 years), assistant baseball coach (12 years), assistant softball coach (1 year), and assistant
football coach (43 years). As a coach, he has received many awards and accolades, including coaching the Logan baseball team to a state championship in 2001, being named the MVC Head Baseball Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2008, the Meritorious Award Winner in 2018, and the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year in 2024.
Throughout his years as a Ranger, Terry has volunteered his time to print t-shirts for countless Logan student organizations and Logan staff, an act that speaks to his generosity with his time and talents. Terry retired for the first time in 2011, but could only stay away from teaching at Logan for one year before returning in 2012. For the next 12 years, Terry continued his work as a teacher in the Technology Education department and a coach for the baseball and football teams. For Terry and his wife of 49 years, Margie, Logan pride runs deep. Two of their four daughters work at Logan High School, and five of their 13 grandchildren have graduated from or currently attend Logan as well. In retirement, Terry enjoys his hobbies of fishing, woodworking, watching sports, and being with his family. He still stays involved at Logan by filming on Friday nights at the football games and continuing to coach the baseball team.
